Tigers in the wild have reached an alarming number that goes no further than 3.200 individuals.

Two years ago, at the St. Petersburg Summit, 13 countries, where tigers can still be found in the wild, got together to proclaim a number of goals in order to protect this endangers specie from the serious gaps that are leaving tigers exposed to poachers.

Targets were set in order to double the number, no later than 2022 to 6.000.

A survey made by the WWF examined six key elements related to effective management and protection against poaching: legal protection status, protection management, effective patrolling, intelligence networks, arrests and prosecutions as well as training and resources for field staff.
